The annual general meeting is carded for Wednesday 27th September 1995 at the Royal Hotel, San Fernando. The meeting commences promptly at 6.00 p.m. Nominations for the posts of; President, 1st Vice President, 2nd. Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and Assistant Secretary can be sent to the Secretary at P.O. Box 3524, La Romain.
Please be reminded that in order to vote or serve on the executive you need to be a financial member for the year 1994-95. No proxy votes are accepted.
The 3rd GSTT conference and 14th Caribbean Geological conference was successfully held between the 16th to 21st of July. There were more than 260 registrants, from the United States, Venezuela, Canada, England, Germany, France, Puerto Rico, Belize, Jamaica, Cuba and Trinidad and Tobago. All presentations were well attended, sometimes with vigorous discussions after. Field trips were enjoyed by all. Hubert Marcus has been appointed as editor for the forthcoming transactions expected to be out by July 1996.
Our heartfelt thanks to the organizing committee for this successful venture.
The annual dinner dance is carded for the 4th of November at the Holiday Inn, please stay tuned for more details.
The GSTT has passed the 300 mark for membership, however only about 100 members are currently financial.
Derek Hudson has joined British Gas Trinidad Ltd.
The annual Harry Kuarsingh Memorial Bursary has been awarded to Tricia Andrews who is presently a second year student in the Geology faculty at Mona, Jamaica.
Copies of the Transactions of the 2nd geological conference of the GSTT are still available for TT$ 100.00. Doug Hilchie's "Old E'Log Interpretation" and "The Geologic Well Log Interpretation' are available as a package for TT$ 150.00.
Neil Lewis has done an excellent job with the GSTT's public relations this financial year. Activities included a newspaper supplement and many radio announcements. Many thanks.
